What should be on your ipod while at the gym
« on: February 29, 2012, 03:17:42 AM »
What are some of your favorite songs or absolute musts that should be added to your ipod if not already there?  Anything goes here.  Even if the song is so lovey dovey that it makes you walk over to the guy at the squat rack ready to put 600 lbs on his back, if he would like to dance!
Let it rip...

"One"-Metallica
"For Those About to Rock"- AC/DC
"Talk"- Coldplay
"I Wanna.."- Akon

My music in the gym is mostly classic rock and rap, but I do have some bizarre music I listen to when I work out that most people wouldn't listen to.  Examples are Jazz, movie theme songs, and college football fight songs (I play USC's while I'm doing a brutal set, it pumps me up every time).

It's funny Dmunee mentioned N'Sync.  Remeber Mmm Bop by Hanson? Thats on my ipod!

I agree on Rise Against. I listen to their songs on repeat, ALL the time, every workout. If it isn't broke, I don't plan on fixing it.

Heavy Metal, Rock, R&B, Techno, etc. Anything that really has a heavy, hardcore, motivating, get-your-body-moving type of beat to it.

I agree on Rise Against. I listen to their songs on repeat, ALL the time, every workout. If it isn't broke, I don't plan on fixing it.

If you like Rise Against definitely check out the other two bands (Cancer Bats and Comeback Kid).

Great suggestions, keep them coming.

I agree, it does help from people bothering you if you want to just focus on the workout.  I will even leave them on if the battery is dead to leave the impression I'm tuning out!

Few more goodies:

Thunder kiss by White Zombie
Bodies by Drowning Pool

I don't hear anything while actually lifting, read: doing the squat/clean/snatch/..., because I'm concentrated on doing what I do. In between there's always the radio on and I'm okay with anything that does not involve a lot of talking and laughing. I once squatted a PR to "Last Christmas"...
For getting pumped-purposes I like Battery. BATTERY!

Music is a big part of my life. I could write such a long list! Would be mostly Black/Death/Thrash/Power/Doom - Metal, some Score Music like Two Steps From Hell and X-ray Dog, some electronic stuff like Pendulum and Daft Punk,  and the classics from rocky, Training Montage, No Easy Way out, and so forth..
